Gouda Games is a board game café in Lake Charles where guests can enjoy a library of board games while enjoying food, drinks, and good company.

Our library will include hundreds of board games ranging from family favorites and party games to strategy, cooperative, and hobby games.

No. Guests may purchase a game pass, snacks, drinks, or all of the above.

Our opening menu of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches is delayed. We will offer snacks, sweets, and bottled drinks for you to enjoy!.

Yes. We plan to offer options for various dietary needs whenever possible.

Outside food and beverages are generally not permitted unless approved in advance for special events.

Absolutely. Guests are welcome to move throughout the café and choose the space that best fits their group and game. We simply ask that you clean up your area, return games properly, and be considerate of other guests and reserved spaces.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring your favorite games and play with friends, however the library fee still applies.

Yes! We love seeing games find a new home and are grateful for community members who want to help grow our library.

When a donated game is added to our library, we may include a “Donated by” note in our game database, QR code game page, or website game listing.

Donors may choose to be listed by name, family name, business name, or remain anonymous.

Donation recognition is our way of saying thank you and showing how our community helps build the Gouda Games library.

We may offer select board games for sale in the future.

At this time, we do not purchase used games, facilitate game trades, or operate as a trading card marketplace. Our primary focus is providing a welcoming space to play, learn, and enjoy board games with friends and family.

Yes! We will have staff members and volunteer game teachers available to help explain many games in our library.

We also make learning easy with our self-service resources. Each game in our library includes a QR code that links to rules, tutorials, and instructional videos so you can quickly learn at your own pace whenever a game teacher is not available.

You’re welcome to stay as long as you’d like during business hours. We simply ask that guests be respectful of shared spaces and table availability, especially during busy times. Feel free to move around the café, explore different games, and enjoy the space while being mindful of other guests.

Yes. We plan to offer an affordable game pass that gives you access to our game library during your visit.

We understand that sometimes you may need to step away for a short time. While we can’t guarantee that your table will remain available, you’re always welcome to return and continue your visit if space allows. We simply ask that everyone be mindful of our shared space so all guests can enjoy the café.

Yes! We plan to host tournaments, themed game nights, family events, trivia nights, social gatherings, and more.

Groups of 8–10 are encouraged to contact us ahead of time so we can help ensure adequate seating. Due to our limited space, we cannot guarantee seating for large walk-in groups during busy periods.

Yes. We will have private gaming spaces available for groups.

Yes, but our space is a little different than a traditional event venue.

Our private game rooms comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests. For larger gatherings, we may be able to reserve or reconfigure areas of the café depending on the day, time, and availability.

Because Gouda Games is a small, community-focused café, we strive to keep as much of our gaming space available for open play as possible. Space is limited, and we want all guests to have an opportunity to enjoy the game library.

During regular business hours, we can typically accommodate one group of up to 10 guests, provided tables and seating are available. Larger groups, birthday parties, and private events may require special arrangements or a private rental.

If you’re planning a gathering, please contact us in advance and we’ll do our best to find an option that works for your group.
